This morning (9/22/06) I took a ride up the beach with my enduro riding buddy kenny.
I was on my 03WR250F and he was on a DR650 ...
While on the bay side, 15.1 miles out I had a "get off", a pretty good one .....
but both me and the bike survived to ride to the jax jetties and back.
(total of a 2.5 hour round trip of 67 miles)
As the bike flew over me, it grabbed the back of my jeans and tore it good.
My camel back busted a strap and my camera bag broke a connection to my chest protector.
Other than sand everywhere, nothing else broke or bent.
...... and my camera survived just fine ......
and My bike started right up .......
I on the other hand needed a few minutes ..... to take pictures of course!
I am feeling a bit beat up and sore right now though ......
but I am out of shape anyway so I'l most likely be sore from that alone .......
In the first pic you can see where the trail stopped, then started up again.
That was where both me and the bike were airborne.
The bike hit the ground first, bounced, then flew over me as I hit the ground.
The second pic shows the distance traveled ..... 20 or 30 feet ......
the third pic shows where I came to a stop
and where the bike (now on its side stand) came to a stop in front of me.
Guess I'd better rebuild my front forks before I do this again .....
it was a real tank slapper as I let off the throttle!
You can see the sand that was kicked from side to side ........
What a day, can't wait to go back .......
after I get the oil in the both forks the same level again!
